An Open and Extensible Endpoint Platform Designed to Enable a Range of Virtual Software Appliances as Unlimited as the IT Requirements of Your Enterprise

Problem: The endpoint is extremely dynamic and requires support for a diverse range of user interactions. IT departments are always on the lookout for architectures that ease maintenance, simplify software upgrades and facilitate the delivery of new services.

Solution: The Neocleus Desktop Hypervisor Framework (DHF) successfully accounts for the dynamic nature of desktops. We make it possible for multiple trusted virtual environments to operate in parallel on the endpoint. We deliver these advantages with an open, extensible endpoint hypervisor platform.

Neocleus has extensively documented the critical properties of the platform, making it possible for organizations to leverage and extend its capabilities to meet unique requirements. Among the properties that have been documented are those that provide for compatibility, usability, performance and security.  This allows for new services to be developed that enable trusted environments to share critical assets such as user preferences, certificate management details and data.  Furthermore, unlike hypervisors that live on servers, desktops are obliged to support subsystems such as sound and graphics in a way that preserves both performance and user experiences.  Neocleus addresses these requirements as well.

The platform includes default implementations for basic and common plug-ins including:

  • Network-related facilities and user interfaces
  • Plug-in registration/loading
  • Dependency resolution
  • Communication between plug-ins
  • Plug-in certification/verification
  • Virtual Monitor switching
  • Scheduling
